The Need to Listen to Your Mother - Episode 1(Very Interesting Novel)

Once upon a time there lived a set of twins named ifeoma and chioma. They were identical and only a few family members could tell them apart by merely looking at them. However, people easily recognized them by the way they behaved. Ifeoma was the talkative and was always being rude to people while Chioma her other was polite and gentle.
The girls grew up with their parents and siblings but the two of them were very close. They went out together and did things together. One day there was to be a festival in the community and children in the community were excited about the festival. They knew that they would have fun with plenty to eat and drink. They had all been looking forward to the festival. A day to the festival, the twins mother called her girls and had a talk with them.

She said "my daughters, I know you girls want to go to the festival and enjoy but be careful don't go out with other girls to the stream today, tomorrow or the day after the festival. When  I was growing up, girls were not supposed to go to the stream at such times" their mum said.
Why? Ifeoma asked out of curiosity, she was thinking of the first festival which they went to the stream and nothing happened.
The mum replied her " during this period, girls usually fell in the stream and died". The twins on hearing this exchanged shocked glances.
" In this same stream?" Chioma asked impulsively.
Yes" this same stream. In the olden days, priests used to offer sacrifices to the stream to appease it and when that stopped, the stream began to take human lives and it was mainly girls" their mother said again more seriously.
Ifeoma became amused. But mother, that is the olden days and things have changed, I can swim. I learnt how to swim in this same stream you re talking about and I have been swimming there for as long as I can remember, she said .
"Just listen to me and don't go to that stream this festive period, I have an I'll feeling towards that this year, their mother said.
Mother stop being negative, nothing bad will happen to us, we've been swimming in that stream all our lives. I am sure that those who fall in the stream and died could not swim besides it is a shallow stream ifeoma replied optimistically.
Ifeoma stop challenging me. Don't go there the two of you must not go there. If you do, you would be disobeying me and as you know, the price for disobedience is too high that you might never be able to pay" their mother said. Don't worry mother, we won't go to the stream today, tomorrow and day after Chioma said.
But their mother wasn't satisfied with that assurance because of how Ifeoma was looking, so she asked Ifeoma hope you understand what I said?
Yes mother, ifeoma replied and looked away in anger, she was wondering how boring it would be not to go to the stream with other girls to wash clothes and play in preparation for the festival. So she asked again, But mum, what will become of our clothes? Won't we wash them?
Your brothers will go to the stream and fetch water for you to use here at home, their mother said ..

Ifeoma been a naughty, stubborn and disrespectful girl wasn't happy...
